About Us
Rooted in Compassion,
Grounded in Your Healing.
Sequoia trees are among the oldest and most resilient living things on Earth — they don't just survive, they endure. They grow slowly, with deep roots, weathering drought, fire, and storm across thousands of years. And remarkably, sequoias actually need fire to release their seeds and regenerate. There is something profoundly true in that — that growth doesn't happen despite hardship, but often because of it.
But there is something else about sequoias that is less well known, and perhaps even more meaningful. Beneath the surface, their root systems intertwine with the trees around them — sharing nutrients, stabilizing one another against the wind, holding each other upright through storms that no single tree could survive alone. A grove of sequoias is not a collection of individuals. It is a community, quietly sustaining itself through connection.
That is the kind of healing we believe in. Not the solitary work of pushing through alone — but the steady, rooted support that comes from being truly held. We believe you are capable of extraordinary resilience. And we believe that resilience grows deeper when you don't have to grow alone.

When your teen is withdrawing, overwhelmed by school, struggling socially, experiencing anxiety, or having intense emotions, it can be difficult to know how to help. Our teen therapists create a respectful, supportive space where adolescents can feel heard, develop coping and emotional-regulation skills, strengthen confidence, and improve communication at home.
We work with teens experiencing anxiety, depression, bullying, school pressure, self-esteem challenges, identity questions, family conflict, trauma, and difficult life transitions.

When Everything Feels Heavy
Depression can feel like low motivation, emotional numbness, withdrawal from the people and things you care about, persistent hopelessness, or simply going through the motions without feeling present. It is not a character flaw — and it responds to compassionate, evidence-based care.
Our therapists use CBT, DBT, somatic approaches, and inner child work to help you reconnect with yourself and rebuild a sense of meaning and energy.

What Our Clients Say

I've had a great experience with my time at Sequoia! It's difficult to find a place that's both welcoming and supportive. My clinician has been very professional and helped me unravel trauma without making the experience too overwhelming. I've left sessions with helpful tips and skills to practice at home and those have really stuck with me. I highly suggest Sequoia for anyone who's looking for a warming support system!

I've had an amazing experience at Sequoia Counseling. From scheduling to the sessions themselves, everything has felt professional, warm, and easy. My therapist takes the time to really listen and creates a space where I feel comfortable being honest, which has made a real difference in my progress. The office itself is calm and welcoming, and the whole team is responsive and easy to communicate with. I'd recommend Sequoia to anyone looking for a supportive, skilled place.

As a fellow therapist, I value practices that provide ethical, compassionate, and client-centered care, and this practice clearly demonstrates those qualities. The clinicians are professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely committed to supporting their clients' growth and wellbeing. The environment feels welcoming and respectful, and it's evident that care and integrity are prioritized throughout the therapeutic process. I would feel confident referring clients here and appreciate the positive impact this practice brings to the community. The practice truly embodies a trauma informed client-centered approach with both clients and clinicians treated with care and respect.
