About Andrea

As the owner and director of Sequoia Counseling, Andrea is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT #130217) and Clinical Hypnotherapist with extensive training in trauma, emotional regulation, and integrative therapeutic approaches. She provides therapy in person and online in Fair Oaks, CA.

Andrea approaches therapy from an integrative mind-body-spirit perspective, recognizing the connection between emotional experiences, the nervous system, thought patterns, relationships, energy, and the ways past experiences can continue to influence the present. She is trained in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), Brainspotting, Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT/Tapping), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), clinical hypnotherapy, and Ego State/parts-based approaches.

Rather than relying on a single therapeutic method, she integrates approaches based on each client's individual needs, experiences, and treatment goals. Her work may incorporate mindfulness, emotion regulation, somatic awareness, nervous-system regulation, energy-based practices, and exploration of conscious and subconscious patterns.

Andrea's clinical background is deeply rooted in trauma, PTSD, and complex emotional regulation — with a clear understanding of how unresolved pain, coping behaviors, and relational patterns shape one another. She works from a Polyvagal-informed lens with every client, attending to the nervous system's role in how we feel safe, connect with others, and move through the world. This foundation informs her compassionate, non-judgmental approach to supporting clients through meaningful change.

For clients interested in exploring spirituality as part of therapy, Andrea's work can extend beyond traditional psychotherapy into questions of meaning, purpose, energy, higher consciousness, and our deeper connection to ourselves, others, and the world around us. She is also expanding her advanced clinical education into the emerging field of psychedelic-assisted therapies through training at the California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS) in San Francisco.
